Carrier Routes are selected based on a zip-code or coordinates and a radius around it. The Carrier routes are USPS designated routes. Each zip-code could have one or more carrier routes. Genrally a user-interface allows end users to select carrier routes using a map or other tools to identify number of pieces needed as well as the routes that USPS will be delivering to.
